Westminster Group wins Covid fever screening contract

Tue, 26th May 2020 11:46

(Sharecast News) - Managed services and security company Westminster Group announced on Tuesday that its technology division has been contracted to provide an unnamed "global investment management" company with a range of fever screening and safety equipment.
The AIM-traded firm said the equipment would be deployed to the client's offices worldwide, as part of its Covid-19 return-to-work programme.

It said the contract, valued at around $0.67m (£0.55m), included the provision of a range of fever screening systems covering different applications, as well as sanitisation stations for 85 offices in 37 countries.

Westminster said it expected to complete the order in the coming weeks.

"Westminster is a trusted brand in the provision of fever screening and associated equipment, having been supplying such equipment for many years," said chief executive officer Peter Fowler.

"Since the Covid-19 outbreak we have seen a significant increase in demand for our services and have been assisting companies and organisations around the world with their screening and safety requirements."

Fowler said that was made more likely now, as countries began to ease restrictions and businesses and organisations looked to put measures in place to enable a safe return to work.

"Whilst fever screening and associated equipment is just one facet of Westminster's worldwide security and safety business, we believe demand for these services will continue for some time and represents a real opportunity for our business in today's 'new normal'."

At 1125 BST, shares in Westminster Group were up 22.53% at 10.9p.
