Vodafone said on Thursday it will add 150 shops and create 1,400 jobs in the UK as part over a 100m pound investment over the next year. The expansion is part of the company's plans to invest £1bn in the UK in 2014.Last June the group revealed it would ramp up UK expenditure by more than 50% to nearly £1bn.The group said the additional shops will boost the total number to more than 500. Vodafone intends to open the first of the 150 shops in Notting Hill, Wembley, Ilford, Perry Barr, Bicester and Walthamstow. Prime Minister David Cameron hailed the move by Vodafone."It is a sign that our long-term economic plan to create jobs and build a stronger, more competitive economy is working," he said in a statement.RD
