Vodafone plans to buy Kabel Deutschland - magazine

FRANKFURT, Feb 13 (Reuters) - Vodafone's German unitis planning to buy Kabel Deutschland, German ManagerMagazin reported on Wednesday.

The magazine said the head of Vodafone's German operationshas proposed a plan to buy the German cable operator to thegroup's top-management, without citing sources.

Kabel Deutschland shares extended gains and were up 10.5percent at 70.28 euros at 1110 GMT.

Based on Tuesday's closing price of 63.60 euros, KabelDeutschland hat a market capitalisation of 5.6 billion euros($7.5 billion), according to Thomson Reuters data. ($1 = 0.7427 euros) (Reporting by Harro ten Wolde)
