Virgin Group loses chief financial officer to Hargreaves Lansdown

Fri, 03rd Dec 2021 10:17

(Alliance News) - Hargreaves Lansdown PLC and Virgin Money UK PLC on Friday said Amy Stirling will leave the board of Virgin Money UK to become chief financial officer of HL.

Amy Stirling is CFO of the Virgin Group and a non-executive director of Virgin Money UK, a Newcastle upon Tyne-based banking and financial services firm. She is the representative director of Virgin Enterprises Ltd but will step down come summer next year. She previously was CFO of TalkTalk Telecom Group PLC.

Stirling will join Bristol-based retail investment platform Hargreaves Lansdown on February 21.

She will replace Philip Johnson, who will step down from the board at the end of January, but still remain available to assist with the handover until May 31.

Her appointment comes in time for Hargreaves Lansdown's investor day on February 22, when it plans to set out the next phase of its strategy.

"I am delighted to welcome Amy Stirling to Hargreaves Lansdown. Amy has over 20 years of strategic financial management and brand experience across a range of sectors and will bring new perspectives to our business. This is an exciting time for Hargreaves Lansdown as we continue to invest in and advance our client proposition and service to capture the significant growth opportunity in our markets and I am very much looking forward to working with Amy as we execute on this strategy," Chief Executive Chris Hill said.

HL shares were up 0.3% at 1,311.00 pence each on Friday morning in London. Virgin Money UK shares were down 0.8% at 168.95p.
