June 18 (Reuters) - Royal Dutch Shell Plc said itinitiated a planned shutdown on an unspecified unit due to anoperational issue at its 600,000 barrel-per-day (bpd) Motivarefinery in Port Arthur, Texas, on June 14.
Motiva Enterprises reported in a filing on Fridaythat a catalytic feed hydrotreater unit (CFH) was shut toinvestigate a potential leak.
Energy industry intelligence service Genscape reported onFriday that elevated flaring had ceased from a hydrocrackerflare.
The flare tower is associated with the 75,000 bpdhydrocracker and the three sulfur recovery units located inSulfur Block 2, said Genscape, adding that one of the sulfurrecovery units has been down since May 27.
Motiva is jointly owned by Shell and Saudi Aramco.
