UK EARNINGS SUMMARY: GRC International Interim Loss Narrows

(Alliance News) - The following is a round-up of earnings by London-listed companies, issued on Thursday and not separately reported by Alliance News:

GRC International Group PLC - holding company for a group of companies providing a range of products and services to address the IT governance and risk management - For the six months to the end of September, pretax loss narrows to GBP1.5 million from GBP3.7 million on substantially lower costs. This was on revenue that fell by 24% to GBP5.4 million from GBP7.1 million on pandemic woes.

Jersey Electricity PLC - Jersey-focused electricity supply - For the year to the end of September, pretax profit remains flat at GBP14.8 million, on revenue that grows by 1% to GBP111.7 million from GBP110.7 million, as the Powerhouse Retail business performed well in the first half, and recovered quickly from being forced to close during the height of the pandemic. Proposes final dividend of 9.70 pence, bringing total payout to 16.05p, up 5.2% from 15.25p. Appoints Alan Bryce as senior independent director with effect from March 4.

Aberdeen New Dawn Investment Trust PLC - investment trust - For the six months to the end of October, net asset value total return was 21.4%, compared to benchmark MSCI All Countries Asia Pacific ex Japan Index, adding 18.1%. Net asset value per share as at October 31 was 314.24 pence, up from 279.9p the same date the year before, and from 261.63p at the end of April. Interim dividend per share unchanged at 1.0p

Falanx Group Ltd - cybersecurity and strategic intelligence services firm - For the six months to the end of September, pretax loss narrows to GBP1.4 million from GBP1.6 million on lower administrative costs, despite a decline in revenue to GBP2.5 million from GBP2.6 million on initial weakness from the Cyber division due to disruption from the pandemic.

Yourgene Health PLC - molecular diagnostics firm - For the six months to the end of September, pretax loss widens to GBP2.6 million from GBP1.3 million, driven by higher administrative expenses, in spite of 5% year-on-year rise in revenue to GBP8.2 million from GBP7.8 million due to strong performance from Molecular Genetics.

Aberdeen Diversified Income & Growth Trust PLC - investment company - For the year to the end of September net asset value negative return was 0.8%, compared to benchmark London Interbank Offered Rate plus 5.5%, which made a positive return of 6.1%. As at September 30, net asset value per share was 121.71 pence, down from 128.08p the same date the year before.

Unicorn AIM VCT PLC - venture capital trust - As at September 30, net asset value per share up 16% at 178.6 pence from 153.9p the same date the year before. Declares final dividend of 3.5 pence per share, bringing total payout to 6.5p per share, in line with the year before.

Panthera Resources PLC - Manchester-based gold explorer - For the six months to the end of September, pretax loss narrows to USD561,393 from USD658,354 the year before on lower exploration and administrative costs. Generated no revenue during the period. Also on Thursday, announced extended partnership with Galaxy Gold Mines Pvt Ltd to the end of April 2021.

Geiger Counter Ltd - invests in companies involved in exploration, development and production of uranium for the nuclear power industry - As a September 30, net asset value per share was 16.47 pence, up 5% from 15.76p the same date the year before, driven by the suspension of uranium production, and the US government acquiring a significant stockpile of the material, leading to a rise in the spot price of uranium.
