TOP NEWS: IAG Passenger, Load Factor And Capacity All Up In August

LONDON (Alliance News) - International Consolidated Airlines Group SA on Wednesday reported a rise in traffic, load factor, and capacity for the month of August.

During August, IAG carried 11.4 million passengers, a 7.2% jump from the 10.6 million carried the year before.

Overall monthly traffic for the FTSE 100-listed company increased 7.0% to 26.5 million passenger kilometres from 24.8 million in August 2017.

The airline's capacity, as measured in available seat kilometres, grew 6.5% to 30.5 million from 28.6 million.

Passenger load factor improved by 0.5 percentage points to 87% from 86.5%.

Iberia, Vueling, Aer Lingus and British Airways are all owned by IAG. Aer Lingus showed the most improvement in August, with traffic climbing 9.3%. The lowest improvement, 4.7%, was seen in British Airways.

Shares in IAG were down 0.1% at 695.00 pence on Wednesday.
