A warning that it is running low on cash has hit loudspeaker and display technology developer NXT. Total revenue in the year to June 2010 is significantly down on the previous year because of the lack of a big licensing agreement. Last year's loss has put pressure on cash flow. James Lewis is taking over from Peter Toms as chief executive on 1 August. Toms will become vice chairman for a transitional period and will focus on Asia. Lewis is a non-executive director of NXT and he founded chip firm Oxford Semiconductor. The business will be split into audio and displays divisions. NXT is developing its components sales business through the purchase of IP for an ultra-efficient, low-power amplifier chip, from the funders of Audium Semiconductor. This side of the business provides more immediate revenues. Full year figures will be released in September. Share buying by Hermes has given the e2v Technologies share price a boost. Hermes bought just over 1m shares in the electronic components supplier taking its stake to nearly 13m shares, or 6.04% of the share capital.
