Mon, 06th Mar 2023 16:25

(Alliance News) - Shaftesbury Capital PLC announced on Monday that the all-share merger of Capital & Counties Properties PLC and Shaftesbury PLC to form Shaftesbury Capital has been completed.

Following the merger, the London based property investment and development company has appointed Jonathan Nicholls as non-executive chair, while Chris Ward has been named the new chief operating officer. Richard Akers has been appointed as senior independent director.

These appointments follow the resignation of Chair Henry Staunton, with immediate effect.

Trading in the company's shares under the new name of Shaftesbury Capital PLC will take effect on Tuesday morning at 0900 GMT in London and 1000 SAT in Johannesburg.

Last June, Shaftesbury and Capital & Counties Properties agreed to create a London focused property investor with a combine portfolio value of GBP5.0 billion.
