Seeing Machines Partners With BMW To Improve Car Driver Safety

Wed, 08th Jan 2020 11:32

(Alliance News) - Seeing Machines Ltd on Wednesday said it has agreed to integrate its FOVIO driver monitoring technology into BMW Group AG's i Interaction EASE.

Seeing Machines said FOVIO uses advanced machine vision technology to precisely measure and analyse head pose, eyelid movements and eye gaze under a full spectrum of lighting conditions, including through sunglasses.

The BMW i Interaction EASE leverages Seeing Machines' technology as a component of its human-machine interface concept, visualised through a head-up display.

"BMW has continuously made passenger safety a priority. Seeing Machines is delighted to continue our partnership with the original equipment manufacturer as we drive improved safety across the industry with innovative driver monitoring technology," said Seeing Machines Chief Executive Paul McGlone.

Seeing Machines shares were trading 2.0% higher in London on Wednesday at 5.20 pence each, while BMW shares were down 0.5% in Frankfurt at EUR73.83 each.
