Sainsbury's names former Reckitt finance boss Hennah as non-executive

Fri, 12th Mar 2021 09:50

(Alliance News) - J Sainsbury PLC on Friday said Adrian Hennah will join the company as a non-executive director, replacing David Keens, who will step down at the July annual general meeting after six years on the board.

The London-based chain of supermarkets also said Hennah will join the audit committee and nomination committee on April 1 and will take over as chair of the audit committee following the AGM.

Hennah spent 18 years in chief financial officer roles at Reckitt Benckiser Group PLC for seven years and earlier at Smith & Nephew PLC and Invensys. Prior to this, he spent 18 years at GlaxoSmithKline PLC working in both finance and operations.

Hennah was previously non-executive director and chair of the audit committee at RELX PLC. He stepped down from the board last year having completed nine years of service.

"I am confident he will bring fresh thinking to our board as we deliver against our plan," said Chair Martin Scicluna.

Sainsbury's shares were trading 0.4% higher in London on Friday at 235.90 pence each.
