(Repeats to cover alert)

LONDON, July 2 (Reuters) - There are signs that productivityin the UK economy is improving Bank of England Deputy Governor Jon Cunliffe said on Thursday onthe BBC.

Speaking to other media, Cunliffe also said Greece'sdeepening debt crisis is showing no sign yet of spreading toother countries on the periphery of the euro zone.

"We're not seeing signs of that at the moment. Financialmarkets are not showing there is contagion or spreading of thoserisks to the periphery," he told BBC Radio 5live in aninterview.

Cunliffe also said he believed that any decision by HSBC on whether to base itself outside of the Bank ofEngland's jurisdiction would be driven by businessconsiderations, not a search for looser regulation.L8N0ZI06J (Reporting by David Milliken; Editing by Kim Coghill) )(nL8N0ZH4W2))
