Refinery Status: Motiva Port Arthur Online After Power Failure

The information is compiled from both official and unofficial refining sources and doesn't purport to be a comprehensive list. All units at the Motiva Enterprises LLC refinery in Port Arthur, Texas, are operating after a power failure Tuesday evening caused a catalytic reformer and delayed coker to shut, a person familiar with the plant's operations said Thursday. An unspecified process unit at Shell's Deer Park Refinery in Deer Park, Texas, was taken out of service Tuesday following an early day fire, company spokesman Ted Rolfvondenbaumen said. ConocoPhillips (COP) reported that its Rodeo, Calif., refinery experienced a flaring upset Tuesday morning, according to a filing with a environmental regulators. BP PLC (BP) reported that planned flaring activity at its Carson, Calif., refinery will begin on the evening of July 21 and last through Aug. 9, but details for the cause of the emissions were not disclosed. The key gasoline-making unit at Citgo's Lemont, Illinois, refinery restarted Thursday following about nine days of unplanned maintenance due to electrical problems emanating from a severe storm.
