PRESS: Shell Mulls Bid For BHP Billiton's American Shale Assets

Fri, 09th Mar 2018 11:42

LONDON (Alliance News) - Royal Dutch Shell PLC is planning a joint USD10.0 billion bid for BHP Billiton PLC's American shale division, Sky News reported on Thursday.

Shell has agreed with private equity firm Blackstone to put together an offer for the assets which FTSE 100-listed BHP put up for sale last summer, Sky News said.

The purchase would represent the biggest takeover Shell has been involved in since its GBP35.00 billion takeover of BG Group in 2016.

The offer, Sky News said, would be only one of "several" offers for the assets.
