(Alliance News) - Petra Diamonds Ltd said on Monday it has recovered an "exceptional" blue diamond from the Cullinan diamond mine in South Africa.
The recovery of the 20.08 carat blue gem quality Type IIb diamond demonstrates both the quality of Petra's asset base and the prevalence of "exceptional stones" in the Cullinan orebody, the firm said, as well as the ability of the mine's plant to recover the full spectrum of diamonds.
Shares in the miner were down 1.8% at 8.00 pence in London on Monday.
