NORWAY GAS-Flows edge up after maintenance

* Norway gas exports total 250 mcm/d * Deliveries to Britain rise to 49 mcm/d * New major maintenance to start on Sat STOCKHOLM, May 24 (Reuters) - Norwegian pipeline gas exportspartially recovered on Friday morning after dropping sharply dueto major field maintenance and unexpected shutdown of a gasprocessing plant the previous day. Deliveries to Europe including Britain were up to 250million cubic metres (mcm) by 0700 GMT versus an average of 227mcm on Thursday, data from gas system operator Gassco showed. Supplies to Britain, Europe's biggest traded gas market,firmed by 13 mcm to 49 mcm, with flows through the 72 mcmLangeled pipeline running at a rate of 22 mcm per day. Langeled flows fell to zero on Thursday afternoon asKaarstoe gas processing plant was shut due to a gas leak. Theproduction was partly restored later. Combined deliveries to Germany and the Netherlands also roseby 10 mcm to 135 mcm. Exports to France and Belgium were stable at 43 and 23 mcmrespectively. Output from Europe's second-biggest gas supplier was cut by55 mcm per day on Thursday due to a major field maintenace onthe Norwegian continental shelf. More maintenance with a similar impact is scheduled to starton Saturday and is expected to last until July 12, Gassco said. Norway's export figures are based on gas fed into the systemat a certain time and calculated to a daily average. Volumes canvary throughout the day as producers adjust the amount of gasthey pump.
