KPN's E-Plus's 2Q Mobile Service Revenue Up 2%

DUESSELDORF (Dow Jones)--Royal KPN NV's (KPN.AE) German unit E-Plus increased its second-quarter mobile service revenue 2% on year due to strong demand, it said Tuesday. Mobile service revenue in the quarter ended June 30 rose to EUR772 million from EUR757 million a year earlier, E-Plus said. E-Plus, Germany's No. 3 network provider, had 19.6 million customers at June 30, marking a 7% increase on year, and gained 300,000 subscribers in the second quarter. Last week, Vodafone PLC's (VOD) German unit posted an increase in mobile service revenue, of 0.2%, for the first time since more than two years.
