Johnson Matthey Appoints Automotive Sector Expert Xiaozhi Liu To Board

Mon, 01st Apr 2019 08:15

LONDON (Alliance News) - Johnson Matthey PLC on Monday said it appointed Xiaozhi Liu as non-executive director with effect from Tuesday.

Liu has worked extensively in the automotive sector, particularly in China, as well as in Europe and the US, the chemicals company said.

"Her knowledge and perspective on technology driven businesses in China and globally will complement and enhance that of our other board members, particularly as the automotive powertrain evolves," Johnson Matthey added.

Liu is currently chief executive officer of ASL Automobile Science & Technology (Shanghai) Co Ltd, a consulting and business development firm, which she founded in 2009, focusing on automotive innovation and technology commercialisation.

Prior to founding ASL, she held several roles, including CEO, at brake components manufacturer Neotek Corp.

Johnson Matthey shares were trading 1.6% higher at 3,193.00 pence each early Monday morning.
