IN BRIEF: Wildcat Petroleum shares jump as hires blockchain advisor

Wildcat Petroleum PLC - seeking investment opportunities in upstream petroleum - Hires Olinga Taeed as blockchain advisor, effective immediately. Wildcat notes on Monday that Taeed was the first person to achieve a professorship in blockchain when he was appointed to the position at Birmingham City University in 2018. He is an advisor on blockchain to the Chinese government, with a digital yuan being piloted. Taeed also is editor in chief of Frontiers in Blockchain, a peer-reviewed blockchain journal. Wildcat Chair Mandhir Singh says Taeed's "extensive experience of the regulatory and technical issues surrounding the launch of new cryptocurrencies will be invaluable as we seek to transform the way the oil and gas industry transacts."

Current stock price: 1.80 pence, up 44% on Monday

Year-to-date change: up from 0.63p on January 8
