IN BRIEF: DS Smith promotes new senior independent director

DS Smith PLC - London-based packaging business - Promotes David Robbie to senior independent director, effective from February 28, replacing Rupert Soames, who is retiring from the board at DS Smith's annual general meeting on September 6. Soames is the chief executive officer of outsourcer Serco Group PLC. Robbie is currently a non-executive director of Luton Airport-based low-cost airline easyJet PLC. He was senior independent director of Aberdeen, Scotland-based bus and train operator FirstGroup PLC until June 2021.

Current stock price: 390.10 pence,up 2.1%

12-month change: up 2.2%
