Abbey PLC - Herts, England-based building and property development, plant hire and property rental company - Says trading over summer was good. Says sales in southern England were helped by the cut in stamp duty together with the UK governments 'Help to Buy' programme. Says sales activity in Ireland is running ahead of last year. On track to match, and even beat, last year's first half turnover and profit. The company's pretax profit for the six months to the end of October totalled EUR21.6 million. Says outlook remains unclear however, but hopes for a "satisfactory" full year outcome.
