Hipgnosis snaps up catalogue of Grammy winning producer Andrew Wotman

Wed, 05th May 2021 08:21

(Sharecast News) - Intellectual property investment firm Hipgnosis Songs Fund has acquired a music catalogue from Andrew Wotman, the recently awarded 2021 Grammy winner for Producer Of The Year.
Wotman has co-written five of the Top 100 most-streamed songs of all time and worked with the likes of Camila Cabello, Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Dua Lipa and Post Malone.

The FTSE 250-listed outfit did not disclose any financial details related to the acquisition.

Hipgnosis founder Merck Mercuriadis said: "It is amazing to be welcoming Watt to the Hipgnosis Family just as he has been awarded the Producer Of The Year Grammy for his work with Miley Cyrus, Post Malone et al, and as he has been Number 1 all over the world with Justin Bieber. He is arguably the most important writer and producer in the world today and I don't use those words lightly."

As of 0820 BST, Hipgnosis shares were up 0.44% at 122.54p.
