(Alliance News) - Greatland Gold PLC said Thursday that it has commenced a new exploration programme, including surface geochemical work and field reconnaissance, at Panorama gold and base metals project.
The Panorama project consists of three adjoining granted exploration licences located in the Pilbara region of northern western Australia.
The exploration company said the exploration programme will initially focus on Archean lode style gold mineralisation in the northern parts of the project area where previous broad spaced rock chip sampling has returned results including 66.0 grammes per ton gold and 18.45 g/t gold. Work will include systematic grid based soil sampling and rock chip sampling along the mineralised zone and is expected to take up to four weeks to complete.
Greatland also plans to undertake a detailed low level aeromagnetic survey covering the entire Panorama project area in July.
"The new campaign, commencing today, represents a step up in the scale of exploration previously conducted at Panorama. This dual programme of geochemical and geophysical work will generate a comprehensive dataset to refine key targets for initial drill testing," said Chief Executive Officer Gervaise Heddle.
Shares in Greatland Gold were trading 1.5% lower at 1.60 pence each on Thursday afternoon.
