Go-Ahead Wins GBP230 Million, Five-Year Singapore Bus Contract

Mon, 23rd Nov 2015 09:43

LONDON (Alliance News) - Transport operator Go-Ahead Group PLC on Monday said it has secured the Loyang bus contract from the Singapore Land Transit Authority, allowing the group to enter the Singapore bus market in September 2016.

The contract will see Go-Ahead handle 26 routes and employee around 900 people in the country. It expects the deal to generate around GBP230.0 million in revenue over five years, with a two-year extension option also in place.

"As a well-established and the largest operator of bus services on behalf of Transport for London we have a strong track record of providing passenger transport in busy urban areas. We will combine our skills, experience and people-focused approach with best practice in Singapore to provide a service that customers value and our team is proud to deliver," said Go-Ahead Chief Executive David Brown.

Shares in Go-Ahead were down 0.9% to 2,570.00 pence on Monday morning.
