(Alliance News) - Gemfields Group Ltd on Friday said Mary Reilly will join the board as an independent non-executive director with immediate effect.
The London-headquartered natural resources company said Reilly will also join Gemfields' audit committee in place of its Non-Executive Chair Martin Tolcher.
Gemfields said Reilly has over thirty years of international experience as a chartered accountant and non-executive director, working across a variety of sectors including luxury retail, mining, manufacturing, business services, sports, travel and media.
Tolcher said: "Mary brings deep experience and enthusiasm to Gemfields' board of directors and I am pleased to welcome her at this crucial time in the company's history."
Gemfields shares were trading 4.6% higher in London on Friday at 6.80 pence each, while in Johannesburg, the stock was up 4.1% at ZAR1.52 a share.
