Firestone Diamonds Starts Development Programme At Lesotho Site

LONDON (Alliance News) - Firestone Diamonds PLC Thursday said it has started a development programme to build and commission the main treatment plant and supporting infrastructure at the Liqhobong diamond mine in Lesotho.

To date, the company has decommissioned and removed the existing pilot plant at the site.

The programme will include widening and re-routing the site access road, building the residue slimes retaining wall and early civil works.

Firestone said its has started mobilising overhead power lines and the main substation, and the first mining fleet is already installed safely at site. In addition, it has placed contracts for major equipment with long-lead times for delivery.

Firestone shares were quoted down 0.3% at 38.75 pence Thursday afternoon.
