Elementis names non-executive Chairman-Designate

Elementis, the global chemicals company, have announced the appointment of Andrew Duff as its non-executive Chairman-Designate.Duff has had numerous senior management roles such as being the non-executive director of Wolseley the plumbing and building materials company. He was also the Chairman of the remuneration committee and the senior independent director. However, most recently, since July 2013, he had been the non-executive Chairman of the FTSE 100 water company Severn Trent.He also spent 16 years at BP - the oil company - in marketing, strategy and oil trading and is a trustee of Macmillan cancer support.The appointee will take up his new duties at Elementis as of April 1st.The company's current Chairman highlighted the appointee's strategy insights, international curriculum and what he termed a "strong focus on delivering value to customers". As of 14:25 shares of Elementis were rising by 4.27% to the 261.4p mark. WS Elementis
