Electronics division boosts Acal sales

Acal expects its full year results to be ahead of previous expectations, helped by a strong end to the year for its core Electronics division.The technology product firm's Electronic division accounts for 78% of group sales and reported a like-for-like (LfL) sales increase of 21% in the fourth quarter. The non-Electronics businesses (22% of group sales) saw LfL sales rise by 7% in the final three months.Full year LfL sales across the group are expected to be 17% ahead of last year.Additionally, sales of Japan-manufactured products were said to be not significantly affected by the earthquake and "Acal has continued to meet its customers' needs.""The board remains confident that our strategy for growth both organically and by further targeted acquisitions will continue to build long term value for shareholders," said chief executive Nick Jefferies.---bc
