Eddie Stobart Logistics receives takeover interest from shareholder DBAY

Mon, 09th Sep 2019 08:01

(Sharecast News) - Eddie Stobart Logistics confirmed on Monday that it has received a preliminary expression of interest from DBAY Advisors Limited, which already owns a 10.1% stake in the company.
"There can be no certainty either that an offer will be made nor as to the terms of any offer, if made," it said, adding that a further announcement will be made when appropriate.

Eddie Stobart suspended trading in its shares last month as it took another look at its accounts, and announced the departure of chief executive Alex Laffey. It also warned that first-half results would be "significantly" lower than forecast.

In a trading update back in July, the transport and logistics company said that a review of its accounts had uncovered some errors and that earnings before interest and taxes for the year to 30 November 2018 would be around £2m lower as a result.
