Directa Plus signs collaboration deal with Ambienthesis

(Sharecast News) - Graphene-based products producer Directa Plus has signed a collaboration agreement with Ambienthesis, it announced on Thursday.The AIM-traded firm said Ambienthesis specialises in the reclamation, environmental remediation and treatment, recovery and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.It said its areas of expertise included environmental remediation; the disposal and recovery of industrial waste; the design, construction and management of systems for the disposal and recovery of industrial waste; and energy production.Ambienthesis is listed on the Milan Stock Exchange.The board said the agreement would involve the evaluation, development and promotion of products, plants and services, which would be used for the remediation of soil and groundwater and industrial waste waters at Ambienthesis' plant in Orbassano, Turin.It said the materials would use Directa Plus' 'G+' graphene products, particularly 'Grafysorber'.Directa Plus said Grafysorber had been independently tested to demonstrate that it performed at least five times better than the other adsorbent products currently on the market, at a "very low" cost to high efficiency ratio, with the used adsorbent material able to be recovered and recycled.Testing would start at the beginning of 2019, and would be performed using a mobile treatment plant provided by Directa Plus, specifically engineered for the project.The collaboration agreement would be divided into two phases, with phase one to last around six months, aiming to verify the treatment capacity for various types of liquid waste that would be the subject of studies and experiments.Directa Plus said the outcome of that phase would then define the basis of a potential commercial agreement between the parties as the second phase of the process."Extending the use of our advanced Grafysorber product into the industrial waste and soil remediation markets is an important step forward," said Directa Plus founder and chief executive officer Giulio Cesareo."This agreement with Ambienthesis potentially expands our target sectors for environmental treatment services significantly and follows our strategy of using locally based, but internationally active, Italian companies as a springboard to global markets."
