BUZZ-Portland gasoline surges as typhoon stokes supply concerns

HOUSTON, Oct 17 (Reuters) - Portland gasoline traded at a35-cent a gallon premium to the NYMEX RBOB contract onMonday, up almost 16 cents from Friday's levels as the remnantsof Typhoon Songda stoked regional supply concerns.

* Tesoro Corp and Phillips 66 on Monday saidoperations were normal at their refineries in Washington

* Operations were also normal at BP's Cherry Pointrefinery, according to a source

* Shell, which also operates a refinery inWashington, did not immediately respond to a request for comment (Reporting by Liz Hampton)
