BP Adds Barclays Finance Director Tushar Morzaria To Board

(Alliance News) - Oil major BP PLC on Friday announced the appointment of Tushar Morzaria, finance director of Barclays PLC, as a non-executive director, effective September 1.

London-based BP said Morzaria will bring over 25 years of financial experience. The Ugandan-born British national is currently part of the Barclays executive committee and previously was chief financial officer for the Corporate & Investment Bank of JP Morgan.

BP Chair Helge Lund said: "On behalf of the board, I am delighted to welcome Tushar to BP. He will bring a wealth of strong financial services expertise to BP, as well as experience in delivering corporate change programmes while maintaining a focus on performance."

Shares in BP were down 0.3% at 298.80 pence each on Friday morning in London.
