BHP Announces Early Redemption Of Hybrid Securities

(Alliance News) - Anglo-Australian miner BHP Group PLC said Monday it has given notice to shareholders that it will fully redeem all of its 2075 US dollar notes outstanding on December 30.

BHP had invited holders of its USD2.25 billion fixed-rate reset notes due 2075, which have a coupon of 6.750%, to tender their notes.

BHP said notes shall be redeemed at their outstanding principal amount plus any accrued but unpaid interest up to the redemption date. Following the redemption, the US dollar notes will be cancelled.

BHP shares closed down 2.3% at 1,698.60 pence in London and down 0.1% at ZAR355.00 in Johannesburg Monday.
