Barclays Ups Stake In Former CEO's African Investor Atlas Mara (ALLISS)

LONDON (Alliance News) - Atlas Mara Ltd on Wednesday said Barclays PLC upped its holding in the African banking sector investor following the transaction on Wednesday last week.

The FTSE 100-listed bank increased its stake to 5.9% from below the notifiable level.

Atlas Mara was founded by former Barclays Chief Executive Officer Bob Diamond. Diamond is currently Atlas Mara's Chair.

Shares in Atlas Mara closed flat Wednesday at USD1.68. Barclays ended the day up 0.3% at 161.84 pence each.
