Avingtrans Unit Gets 3G Melter Crucible Order From Sellafield

LONDON (Dow Jones)--Avingtrans (AVG.LN), a designer, manufacturer and supplier of critical components and associated services to the energy, medical, industrial and global aerospace sectors, announced Friday that its subsidiary Metalcraft, has received the first order for its new 3G Melter Crucible from Sellafield. MAIN FACTS: -The initial batch of 3 units will take around 12 months to complete, and forms part of the 3 year, GBP1.5 million framework agreement that Metalcraft has secured for the supply of its Melter Crucibles to Sellafield's Vitrification Plant. -The initial order includes dedicated tooling which is required to make the Crucibles to the exacting tolerances necessary for these safety critical items. -Shares closed Thursday at 36 pence. -By Zechariah Hemans, Dow Jones Newswires; 44-20-7842-9411; zechariah.hemans@dowjones.com (END) Dow Jones Newswires July 02, 2010 02:11 ET (06:11 GMT) Avingtrans
