Tue, 25th Sep 2018 11:56
(Sharecast News) - Apple has selected Spire Health Tag wearable devices to be a featured health product that will be sold in Apple stores globally. The health tags are small devices to stick on clothes to gather all sorts of health data from steps, heartbeat and stress levels. The batteries on the devices do not need charging and will last at least a year and a half before dying out, they are also machine washable.Spire Healthcare announced on Tuesday it had secured a contract with CAP-XX for a high volume order of its Thinline supercapacitors that are part of the wearable devices bought by Apple. CAP-XX expects further orders in the second half of the year.Spire Health Tags are now available in UK, US and Chinese Apple stores and will arrive to further stores worldwide later this autumn.Anthony Kongats, chief executive of CAP-XX, said: "We are delighted that Spire has secured this important distribution channel for its innovative internet of things (IoT) fitness and wellbeing monitoring device. The Board is encouraged by yet another example of the value CAP-XX provides to these devices and by the broader validation of the market potential for IoT devices in general."Spire's Health Tags will be sold in Apple Stores as a three-pack for $130, six-pack for $230 and an eight-pack for $300, with additional pack sizes available on the company's website.
