Anglo American Names Shell Director Elisabeth Brinton As Non-Executive

Tue, 16th Feb 2021 13:51

(Alliance News) - Anglo American PLC on Tuesday said Elisabeth Brinton will join the board as a non-executive director, with effect from March 1.

The London-based mining company said Brinton is executive vice president of Global Renewables & Energy Solutions at Royal Dutch Shell PLC. She joined Shell in 2018 from Australia's AGL Energy, where she led a commercial new energies business.

"Elisabeth Brinton's experience of developing clean energy strategies around the world, with a clear commercial focus on the potential for digital technologies, will bring additional insights to our board discussions," said Chair Stuart Chambers.

Anglo American shares were trading 0.3% higher in London on Tuesday at 2,800.50 pence each, while in Johannesburg, the stock was up 1.4% at ZAR568.42 a share.
