Amerisur Resources Makes Progress On Interconnector Project

Tue, 01st Dec 2015 07:53

LONDON (Alliance News) - Amerisur Resources PLC on Tuesday said it has made progress on its Ecuador-Colombia interconnector pipeline project but is still awaiting environmental approval in Ecuador.

The South America-focused oil and gas company said the project, to connect its Platanillo oil field in Colombia with the oil pipeline system in Ecuador, is nearing completion and it has started pipe laying operations in Ecuador.

But the company said it is still awaiting final environmental approval from the Ecuador authorities, though it expects this to come imminently.

"I am very pleased with the advances we have made and look forward to updating shareholders as the project progresses further," said Chief Executive John Wardle.
