Tarsus Reports Growth In Number Of Buyers And Bookings In Year So Far

Tue, 06th Nov 2018 12:42

LONDON (Alliance News) - Tarsus Group PLC on Tuesday said trading to-date continues to be in line with its expectations.

The events company said bookings for 2018 are 9% higher year-on-year and buyers for the year-to-date also are up 9%, both on a like-for-like basis.

In the US, Labelexpo Americas, an event for the label and package printing industry, achieved a record edition, Tarsus said, with an 83% rebook for its next edition.

The event attracted 16,413 visitors from 86 countries, who came to see over 480 exhibitors occupy more than 203,642 square feet of space in 5 halls.

The biggest Connect event of the year was held in Salt Lake City and the Painweek annual conference for frontline practitioners interested in pain management was held in Las Vegas, with both performing in line with expectations.

In Turkey, international trade fair for household goods Zuchex achieved a record event with strong growth over its previous edition.

Tarsus noted that the dollar rate movements have had a marginally positive impact partially offsetting the weaker Turkish lira.

"Our Quickening the Pace 2 is delivering both operationally and strategically, and we remain confident that 2018 will be another year of strong progress for the group," said managing Director Douglas Emslie.

Tarsus launched its Quickening the Pace strategy in 2013, which seeks to accelerate the pace of financial returns to shareholders via increasing buyer attendance at events and by small strategic acquisitions.

Tarsus shares were trading 1.8% higher on Tuesday at 280.00 pence each.

The company said it expects to publish a trading update for 2018 on January 14.
