IN BRIEF: Stanley Gibbons buys rare stamp for USD8.3 million

Stanley Gibbons Group PLC - London-based collectible postage stamp retailer - Unit Stanley Gibbons Ltd buys world's "most famous and valuable stamp" for USD8.3 million. Adds: "The unique 1c Magenta was purchased at auction in the USA." Also working with Castelnau Group Ltd, controlled by Phoenix Asset Management Partners, to develop digital platform to buy and sell collectibles. Stanley Gibbons says: "The proposed partnership with Castelnau has the potential to provide the group with a minority shareholding in the new digital platform at zero cost as well as cost free access to the platform itself."

Current stock price: 3.00 pence

Year-to-date change: down 10%
