Rightster Group Confirms New Executive Appointments Amid Review

Tue, 17th Nov 2015 10:11

LONDON (Alliance News) - Rightster Group PLC on Tuesday confirmed the appointment of Ashley MacKenzie as its new chief executive, Robin Miller as its chairman, and Richard Mansell as its chief operating officer, having flagged the changes in late October.

In October, Rightster, which distributes and monetises live and on-demand video content, said Chief Executive Officer Patrick Walker plans to step down and move to a non-executive role, part of a wider review of the business.

The company is currently in the midst of a strategic review, in which it is considering all options for the business, including strategic partnerships, acquisitions, divestments, a sale of the company, or a new debt facility.

It said at the time of Walker's resignation that MacKenzie had been proposed as its new chief executive, with Mansell to become chief operating officer and Robin Miller to be non-executive chairman. All of those appointments were confirmed on Tuesday.

MacKenzie was previously chief executive officer of Base79 Ltd, which Rightster acquired in July of last year.

Non-Executive Chairman Mark Lieberman and Non-Executive Directors Michael Broughton and David Mathewson all have stepped down, though Chief Financial Officer Niall Dore will remain in his existing role.

"I'm delighted to be leading Rightster into its next phase, joined by an experienced and accomplished board. We look forward to combining our skills and expertise to strengthen the company and deliver value for our shareholders," MacKenzie said.

Shares in Rightster were untraded on Tuesday at 9.40 pence.
