(Adds details on work, pending sale)
HOUSTON, Sept 2 (Reuters) - Royal Dutch Shell Plc
plans to begin an overhaul of a hydrocracker and other units at
its 302,800-barrel-per-day joint-venture Deer Park, Texas,
refinery in late September, sources familiar with plant
operations said on Thursday.
A Shell spokesman declined to comment.
The 67,000-bpd diesel-producing hydrocracker will undergo
planned work along with a 43,000-bpd hydrotreater and an
aromatics unit, the sources said.
The work is scheduled to finish in early November, according
to the sources.
Shell is in the process of selling its controlling interest
in the refinery to partner Pemex, Mexico's national
oil company by the end of the year for $596 million.
