HOUSTON, June 11 (Reuters) - Motiva Enterprises plans to overhaul a hydrocracking unit (HCU) in October at its235,000 barrel per day Convent, Louisiana, refinery, accordingto sources familiar with operations at the refinery onWednesday.
The 45,000-bpd heavy oil HCU, called the H-Oil unit, willlikely be shut for up to six weeks during the overhaul, thesources said. A hydrocracker uses hydrogen to boost the yield ofmotor fuels from crude oil.
A Motiva spokeswoman declined to discuss the Conventrefinery's maintenance plans.
Motiva is a 50-50 joint venture between Royal Dutch ShellPlc and Saudi Aramco. (Reporting by Erwin Seba; editing by G Crosse and MargueritaChoy)
