HOUSTON, Feb 27 (Reuters) - Lead oil company negotiatorShell Oil Co said on Friday that it is scheduled to speak withthe union representing striking U.S. refinery workers on Feb.25.
Talks between the U.S. arm of Royal Dutch Shell Plc and the United Steelworkers union broke off on Friday afterrefinery owners balked at a settlement, after which the unionordered workers at three Motiva Enterprises refineries, co-owned by Shell, to strike.
A total of 6,550 workers are walking picket lines at 15plants, including 12 refineries that account for one-fifth ofU.S. domestic production capacity. (Reporting by Erwin Seba)
