HOUSTON, Feb 10 (Reuters) - Production on a70,000-barrel-per-day (bpd) gasoline-producing fluidic catalyticcracking unit has been shut down at Royal Dutch Shell Plc's 327,000 bpd joint-venture refinery in Deer Park, Texas,said sources familiar with plant operations.
A Shell spokesman issued a statement saying the Deer Parkrefinery used its safety flare on Sunday due to an operationalupset on a unit. The statement did not say which unitmalfunctioned.
The Deer Park refinery is part of a 50-50 joint venturebetween Shell and Mexico's national oil company, PetroleosMexicanos, or PEMEX. (Reporting by Erwin Seba; Editing by Jonathan Oatis)
