LAGOS, July 1 (Reuters) - Nigeria's liquefied natural gascompany (NLNG) has declared force majeure on LNG exports becauseof a maritime security agency blockade on its ships, aspokeswoman said on Monday.
The force majeure has been in place since June 28, she said.
Since June 21, the Nigerian Maritime Administration andSafety Agency (NIMASA) has barred LNG cargoes from entering orleaving the loading bay because it says NLNG is not paying alevy, from which NLNG argues it is exempt.
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation owns 49 percentof NLNG with Shell holding 25.6 percent, Total 15 percent and Eni 10.4 percent. (Reporting by Tim Cocks; Editing by Joe Brock)
