ASTANA, July 2 (Reuters) - Kazakhstan on Tuesday notifiedConocoPhillips that it would use its pre-emptive rightand buy the U.S. oil major's 8.4 percent stake in the giantKashagan oil project, the Kazakh Oil & Gas Ministry said in astatement.
National oil company KazMunaiGas will buy the stake onbehalf of the Kazakh state, the ministry said.
