PureCircle Delayed Results Audit Ongoing; Eyes Three Board Additions

Tue, 14th Jan 2020 17:33

(Alliance News) - PureCircle Ltd on Tuesday said an audit of its belated financial 2019 results are still ongoing.

In addition, the Stevia sweetener producer proposed three new directors to add to its board during its February annual general meeting.

PureCircle, whose shares are suspended from trading because it is yet to publish its results for the year to June 30, 2019, said a shareholder motion in relation to the annual report will be put to shareholders no later than 90 days following its February 10 AGM.

The company also proposed adding Sridhar Krishnan, Lai Hock Meng and Olivier Maes to its board. PureCircle shareholders will vote on whether to add the trio to the company's board during the AGM.

PureCircle said: "Sridhar Krishnan is currently serving in an advisory capacity to organizations covering a cross section of industries. His 44 years of global experience extends to various industries such as the textile and agri-commodity industries."

Hock Meng previously served on the PureCircle board as a non-executive director between June 2008 and March 2017, the company said.

Maes has held various roles with French food products firm Danone SA, PureCircle said, including a stint as the head of its biscuits and snack unit in the southeast Asia region.

PureCircle Chair John Slosar said: "The existing directors have considered and assessed the proposed directors and believe that the board will continue to maintain a balance of knowledge and skills. Your board unanimously recommends that shareholders vote in favour of all the resolutions including resolutions to elect the proposed directors, to be put forth at the coming AGM."
