AIM-listed television production firm Motive TV saw its share price storm higher after it secured distribution rights for the BesTV digital terrestrial technology.BesTV enables broadcasters to use their existing Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) broadcasting signal to transmit programme to a DTT set-top box. The technology also enables catch-up TV, video on demand and various other information services without the requirement for an Internet connection.Motive is licensing the technology from Spanish company Adecq Digital SL. It has been granted distribution rights for all countries except Spain and Italy. "We believe there is a market of hundreds of broadcasters worldwide who will find this new technology essential to the growth of their business," said Mick Pilsworth, chairman of Motive.
