(Alliance News) - Merian Chrysalis Investment Co Ltd on Wednesday said it has invested a total of GBP34.8 million in Featurespace Ltd, Embark Group Ltd and Secret Escapes Ltd.
Merian Chrysalis invests in high-growth, private companies aspiring to an eventual IPO.
The investment firm said it has invested GBP20 million in Featurespace as part of a GBP30 million funding round alongside other existing investors such as Highland Europe UK LLP and IP Group PLC.
"Featurespace has developed truly innovative technology and provides financial institutions with a world-class solution in the fast growing fraud detection and prevention market. We are delighted to announce this fantastic addition to the Merian Chrysalis portfolio and we look forward to supporting the Featurespace team as they continue to grow and develop the business," said Richard Watts, portfolio manager of Merian Chrysalis.
Separately, Merian has also completed its follow-on investment of GBP12.2 million in Embark Group, allowing the retirement solutions provider to close its acquisition of Sterling ISA Managers Ltd and Zurich Investment Services Ltd.
Additionally, the investor said it has made a GBP2.6 million follow-on investment in luxury holiday company Secret Escapes Ltd, providing it with funds to navigate the disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Merian Chrysalis shares were trading 2.6% higher at 93.59 pence each on Wednesday afternoon in London.
